Wedding invitations set the tone for your wedding and starts a conversation with guests about the special day.  Here are a few tips to keep in mind that will help you select your wedding invitations with style!

Saving Instead of Sacrificing Style.  If you are having a formal wedding, then you may want your invitations to be less casual in language, font, and design.  If you opt for a more expensive invitation, but want to still save  your pennies, then printing the reception location at the bottom of your wedding invitation may be an option.   Although, etiquette says that you should have separate cards for the reception, this is a convenient way to cut costs while keeping your posh invitations.

Out of Respect and Etiquette.   Many people place the names of those who has financially contributed to the wedding on the invitation.  Although, a very common practice is to place the names of the couples’ parents on the invitation out of respect for both families, irrespective of a financial contribution.

Word Etiquette.  If you have a ceremony in a place of worship, then using “honour” on your wedding invitation is considered proper etiquette.  For any other location, “honor” would be used instead, but many people use honour for their outdoor religious ceremonies too!
